These courses are design to give you an
introduction to different types of diving. Here is a description of the specialty courses we offer.
Enriched Air (Nitrox)
This course is designed to qualify recreational divers to use enriched air
(“nitrox”) for no stop recreational diving. The program addresses the use of
enriched air with 22 percent to 40 percent oxygen, with emphasis on enriched air
with 32 and 36 percent oxygen. In this course you will learn how to use an oxygen analyzer to determine the
oxygen content in an enriched air blend and demonstrate how to verify cylinder content data and sign the
fill log. There are no open water dives required for this course optionally you can add 2 enriched air dives to the course.

Boat Diver
Boat diving is not surprisingly one of the more popular dive activities. You reach the best dive sites in the area and you don't have to carry around heavy diving equipment. In Thailand and in many other countries, boat diving is the most common way of exploring the underwater world. In this course you learn about boat terminology, different types of dive boats, boat safety, emergency equipment for boat diving and many more useful thing.

Drift Diver
If you until now experienced current as something you have to fight against, this course will give you a whole new perspective. The Drift diving course grew out of the philosophy "if you can't beat them - join them". In Thailand as in many other countries, diving in current is fairly common. In this course you will learn how to take advantage of the current to save energy, air consumption and to fully enjoy the beautiful dives sites Similan has to offer.

Deep Diver
As a fresh PADI Open Water Diver 18 meter/ 60 feet marks the depth limit to which you're qualified to dive. Soon you will realize that there are lots of interesting things to see below that depth. Down there it is different and you need additional training, the deep Deep Diver course is the answer. In this course you will learn deep diving planning, organization, procedures, techniques and hazards.

Night Diver
Think about a nocturnal stroll through a familiar park, a place you have seen many times during daytime, yet somehow different. At first it seems a little bit scary perhaps, but as soon as your eyes adjust to the dark, you relax and recognize familiar paths and trees. The same feeling will appear the first time you visit your favorite dive site at night, same same but different. Even at night the reef is very much alive and you will see marine species you never seen during daytime. In this course you learn how to plan a night dive, safety predures and about special equipment used for night diving.

Peak Performance Buoyancy
Ask any dive professional what specific skill separates an experienced from a less experienced diver, and you'll almost always get the same answer - buoyancy control. Divers who master buoyancy control move through the water gracefully, they seem to ascend, stop, hoover and descend at will with hardly a fin flick or hand wave. By contrast, those without such control constantly kick or wave to stay off the bottom. They constantly adjust their BCD's and wasting effort with every depth change - They may dive safely, but not efficiently. If you can control your buoyancy you save air and your dive will be more fun.

Underwater Navigator
Do you remember your first Open Water Dive? More then likely, you were thrilled with your first venture beyond confined water, but perhaps some what disoriented. After just a few turns you were completely lost, but surprisingly to you, your instructor knew exactly where you were all along. Underwater navigation is one of the diving skills you may think you don't need to master, until you really, really need it. If you are good at underwater navigation you will enjoy your dive even more, as you don't need to worry about where you are.

Digital Underwater Photographer
Nowadays you find dozens of excellent digital cameras with underwater housing available on the market for affordable prices. With just a little bit of help, the digital break through has made it possible for everyone to take great photos under water. In this course you will learn about what you should look for when you buy U/W camera equipment, how to maintain the equipment in good condition, some basic photo editing in Photoshop and last but not least - simple techniqes to improve your photo skills.
